Buddhabhadra's cave 26, Ajanta: a masterpiece of Mahayana Buddhism in the Vakataka period
This is my unpublished research on Buddhabhadra's cave 26 Complex at Ajanta, which was excavated from 462 to 480 CE during the reign of the Vakataka Harisena when Mahayana Buddhism was prevailing in the region. It traces the inauguration and phase by phase development of the cave-complex. There is a detailed approach to the documentation and analysis of preserved evidence, and logical deductions have been made to conclude the sequence of developments.
